Samantha AI Debuts Voice-First Version for Natural Conversations

Samantha AI Debuts Voice-First Version for Natural Conversations

Samantha AI, recognized as Romania’s first conversational artificial intelligence platform, has released its third major version, placing voice interaction at the center of the user experience. In this latest release, more than 75% of all interactions already happen through speech, highlighting a clear shift in how users prefer to communicate with AI. Moreover, the new version supports continuous voice conversations, signaling a meaningful step forward in the development of conversational AI within the Romanian market.

Unlike earlier implementations that relied on segmented or command-based voice inputs, the new speech-to-speech technology enables uninterrupted dialogue. Developed locally, this technology allows users to speak naturally and receive spoken responses without breaking the flow of conversation. In addition, the platform automatically detects languages without requiring manual configuration, while still supporting traditional text chat, text-to-voice, and voice-to-text interactions. As a result, users can switch freely between communication modes depending on their needs and environment.

“Samantha AI was designed from the very beginning as a social AI, not just a simple chatbot. Our goal was to build a natural, coherent, and easy-to-use conversational experience for real life. To continuously improve the experience, after each platform version we analyse session length, user engagement, and preferences for voice or text. Samantha V3 shows that over 68% of users implicitly choose voice conversations,” explains Cristian Doiu, founder of UXR.

Usage data strongly supports the shift toward voice-first engagement. Speech-to-speech sessions now last 47% longer than text-only interactions and remain 31% longer than voice-to-text sessions from the previous version. Furthermore, more than 68% of users naturally choose voice as their primary method of interaction, without being prompted. At the same time, early drop-offs have declined sharply, with the abandonment rate in the first 30 seconds falling by 54%. Additionally, return visits have increased significantly, with Samantha V3 recording a 58% higher return rate compared to the platform’s first release.

Looking at the broader growth pattern, the platform’s evolution shows accelerating adoption. Samantha V1, which focused only on text conversations, crossed 20,000 visits. Then, Samantha V2 introduced voice-to-text features and quickly exceeded 100,000 visits within just a few months, while voice interactions increased by more than 400%. Now, Samantha V3, currently available in beta, shows that speech-to-speech communication dominates usage, accounting for over three-quarters of all interactions.

Another key differentiator is multilingual flexibility. The platform makes it easy to switch languages mid-conversation, and over 41% of user sessions already do this without losing context. This capability makes Samantha AI especially suitable for multilingual users and cross-border communication scenarios within Europe.

The new Samantha V3 speech experience is available for free and can be accessed through both text and voice interfaces. The platform is part of a broader digital ecosystem developed by UXR and Cristian Doiu, which also includes Chatter.al, AWW.al, TheDesignBook.net, and Thinks.at. Each of these projects emphasizes practical value, performance, accessibility, and scalability, with a strong focus on supporting digital innovation across the European market.

Overall, the launch of Samantha V3 highlights how conversational AI is moving beyond basic chat functions toward more natural, voice-driven human interaction, setting a new benchmark for locally developed AI platforms in Romania.
