Salesforce Finalizes Acquisition of Informatica

Salesforce Finalizes Acquisition of Informatica

Salesforce, the world’s #1 AI CRM, has officially completed its acquisition of Informatica, expanding its leadership in enterprise data management and accelerating its vision for agentic ai. With this milestone, Informatica’s full suite of data tools—covering everything from integration and governance to metadata intelligence, quality, privacy, and Master Data Management (MDM) is now seamlessly part of the Salesforce platform.

Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, emphasized the importance of trusted data, stating:

“You have to get your data right to get your AI right. Data and context is the true fuel of Agentforce, and without clean, connected, trusted data there is no intelligence – only hallucination. Informatica is the trusted platform that turns fragmented enterprise data into context, so every agent can reason, act, and deliver outcomes with precision. When companies get their data right, they get their AI right, and Agentforce becomes unstoppable.”

Steve Fisher, President and Chief Product Officer at Salesforce, added:

“With Informatica, we will deliver a governed and complete data platform that powers more intelligent, contextual, and autonomous experiences across Agentforce 360 – the trusted system connecting humans and AI agents in the enterprise.”

Strengthening the Entire Agentforce 360 Ecosystem

Salesforce’s acquisition unlocks four major advancements:

1. Smarter, Cleaner Data with Data 360

Informatica’s data management engine reinforces Data 360 with clearer, connected, and actionable datasets across business applications.

2. End-to-End Integration with MuleSoft

Pairing MuleSoft’s integration and API management with Informatica’s governance and quality tools delivers a comprehensive integration layer for the AI era.

3. A Stronger Agentforce 360 for Autonomous AI Agents

Trusted data becomes the backbone for AI agents to interpret context, take action, and deliver precise outcomes.

4. Deeper Context for Tableau Insights

Tableau users will access richer, more contextual analytics powered by unified metadata and enterprise data clarity.

Salesforce will also expand its metadata intelligence advantage. By unifying Salesforce’s object-level metadata with Informatica’s enterprise-wide lineage and context, customers gain more accurate, explainable, and trustworthy AI outputs.

Informatica’s Mission Continues Under Salesforce

Informatica will operate within Salesforce while continuing its mission of delivering trusted, AI-ready data across the global enterprise ecosystem. Salesforce plans rapid integration of Informatica’s data stack—including governance, integration, quality, and MDM—into Agentforce and Data 360.

Amit Walia, CEO of Informatica, noted:

“Joining forces with Salesforce enables us to drastically accelerate our mission as the ‘Switzerland’ of AI-powered data management to help organizations unlock the full value of their data and AI. By integrating Informatica’s data management capabilities and ecosystem integrations directly into the Agentforce 360 platform, businesses around the world can drive innovation, efficiency and growth by leveraging a single vendor that unites applications, trusted data and AI agents.”
