PitchBook Unveils AI Tools: Navigator & OpenAI Integration

PitchBook Unveils AI Tools: Navigator & OpenAI Integration

PitchBook, a top provider of private capital market data, revealed plans to introduce PitchBook Navigator, a new generative AI capability designed to deliver high-quality private market intelligence through simple, conversational prompts within the PitchBook Platform. The feature will roll out to users by late November.

Additionally, PitchBook confirmed a new Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector integration with OpenAI, allowing subscribers to securely access PitchBook’s proprietary private market datasets directly within ChatGPT. This integration will go live soon. Together, these innovations bring private market intelligence into a new AI-driven era, helping financial professionals access, understand, and leverage insights faster and more confidently.

“AI is only as powerful as the data and research behind it,” said Paul Jaeschke, Chief Product Officer at PitchBook. “With PitchBook Navigator and our growing network of LLM partnerships, we’re bringing private market intelligence into a new era of trusted AI – where insights are not only fast, but also reliable and grounded in data professionals already depend on. By combining the speed of conversational AI with the rigor of our proprietary data methodology, we’re empowering our clients to move from data discovery to decision-making with speed, confidence, and clarity – no matter where they work.”

Navigator, built right into the PitchBook Platform, lets users ask questions in plain language and instantly find insights on companies, deals, and market trends. It combines PitchBook’s expansive data foundation with its AI + HI (Artificial Intelligence + Human Insights) framework to ensure responses are accurate, unbiased, and timely. Upon release, Navigator will provide research across companies, transactions, and major market themes, helping teams streamline deal sourcing, due diligence, and competitive analysis. PitchBook plans to broaden Navigator’s coverage over time to encompass its full data and knowledge ecosystem.

Early beta tests show strong enthusiasm, along with noticeable productivity improvements.

“I primarily used Navigator for summaries, trends, and recent market activity. It was very helpful in writing a brief summary on PE and RE market trends." – Director of Public & Private Markets, Boutique Wealth Management Firm

"The detailed references to the source data and links to source information is helpful. Very easy to verify that the data presented is accurate." – Chief Operating Officer, Enterprise Business Development Company

"I was able to break down my search request by column, location, and data type. It was smart about answering what I needed." – Ecosystem Development and Strategic Partnerships, Department of Commerce

"It was helpful to get an initial summary in a matter of a couple of seconds/minutes." – Corporate Development, Space Technology Company

Furthermore, PitchBook is strengthening its network of enterprise AI partnerships through its MCP integration with OpenAI. With this addition, subscribers can seamlessly retrieve PitchBook insights within ChatGPT via secure, conversational prompts—eliminating the need to switch platforms or validate data elsewhere. Both companies share a common goal: enabling fast, trustworthy financial analysis backed by high-quality data.

“AI is transforming every corner of business, and after nearly two decades building the foundation of reliable, comprehensive data, PitchBook is uniquely positioned to lead this new era of private market intelligence,” said Thomas Van Buskirk, EVP of Technology and Engineering at PitchBook. “By embedding advanced AI in our platform and building integrations, we’re delivering trusted, data-driven insights faster than ever, empowering investors to make confident decisions grounded in PitchBook’s proven data integrity.”

As AI transforms the financial world, PitchBook is focused on innovating responsibly and grounding every step in reliable data. The company’s AI strategy currently focuses on:

  • Boosting data collection through scalable AI + HI engines to improve accuracy and expansion.

  • Enhancing in-platform capability, including Navigator, Profile Summaries, Transcript Summaries, and VC Exit Predictor.

  • Scaling AI partnerships to ensure reliable data is accessible across whichever tools professionals rely on.

Together, these advances represent PitchBook’s continued commitment to delivering trusted private-market intelligence powered by cutting-edge AI.
