Amazon Business Launches Next-Gen AI to Boost Efficiency & Savings

Today, at the Amazon Business Reshape conference, Amazon announced several new AI-powered solutions including the Amazon Business Assistant to help organizations uncover savings, automate routine tasks, and make spending more efficient and easier. These innovations, all powered by Amazon Bedrock—the fully-managed service from Amazon Web Services (AWS) for building and scaling generative AI applications—mark the next phase in Amazon Business’ smart buying journey.

Amazon Business combines everyday low prices and a vast selection with a convenient shopping and delivery experience. Alongside that, it brings a diverse supplier network, a reliable global logistics system, customizable workflow features and intelligent automation tools—serving all types of organizations, from hundreds of thousands of small businesses to 97 of the Fortune 100.

“Now, with new, AI-enhanced tools, we’re empowering organizations to reduce costs, make data-driven buying decisions, and get support when and where they need it.” — Shelley Salomon, Global Vice President, Amazon Business

Salomon added, “For over a decade, we’ve redefined how organizations manage purchasing by delivering a faster, smarter and more transparent buying experience. Amazon Business combines vast selection and competitive pricing with enterprise-grade tools—multi-user accounts, approval workflows, and deep analytics—to help companies manage business buying and operate more efficiently. Now, with new, AI-enhanced tools, we’re empowering organizations to reduce costs, make data-driven buying decisions, and get support when and where they need it.”

Generative AI-Powered Conversational Buying Experience

Beginning today in the U.S., Amazon Business users can access the Amazon Business Assistant at no additional cost. This assistant leverages Amazon’s deep purchasing expertise alongside conversational support to deliver instant, interactive, easy-to-follow recommendations for setting up and using an Amazon Business account. It also offers ways to buy more efficiently based on past purchase history—and the tool continues to learn from user interactions and feedback. Users can access the assistant via the orange icon at the bottom right of their Amazon Business account page on desktop or laptop. When there’s a chance to make buying more efficient, the tool appears and offers support tailored to the account settings.

AI-Enabled Savings Insights for Business Prime

In a few weeks, U.S. Business Prime members will receive access to a new analytics feature called Savings Insights. This tool uses AI to analyze purchase history, pricing patterns and account settings, then presents recommendations via a dashboard. Business Prime users with paid plans can log in to their Amazon Business account, go to the Amazon Business Analytics tab, select Savings Insights and view opportunities such as bulk quantity discounts, lower price options from the same seller, higher-value pack sizes and Subscribe & Save options.

Spend Anomaly Monitoring for Business Prime Enterprise

U.S. Business Prime Enterprise plan administrators will soon be able to automatically monitor unusual purchasing patterns with the Spend Anomaly Monitoring feature. This capability analyzes past purchases, pricing and account settings to detect four main types of irregularities: orders from rarely used categories, irregular repurchases, excessive daily spending and split purchases that might sidestep approval workflows. Administrators can use the dashboard by logging into their Amazon Business account, navigating to Business Analytics → Insights → Spend Anomaly.

AI-Driven Solutions for Manufacturing & Utilities

In partnership with AWS and Deloitte, Amazon Business is introducing two intelligent solutions tailored for industrial business buying and sourcing operations. Built on Deloitte’s IntelligentOps platform and powered by Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker AI, these solutions aim to shift organizations from reactive to proactive decision-making. They leverage Amazon’s logistics scale, AWS’s AI capabilities and Deloitte’s industry expertise to optimize sourcing for manufacturing and energy sectors.

For manufacturers, an AI-powered supply-chain solution launching in early 2026 will analyze patterns and predict parts and inventory disruptions before they occur. It will alert users to potential issues and recommend actions like re-allocating inventory or expediting shipping to avoid production delays.

For U.S. utilities, another solution launching in early 2026 will help improve grid reliability and resilience through AI diagnostics, geo-spatial analysis and predictive modeling. It will share material replacement timelines and vegetation-management data, enabling utilities and Amazon Business to plan ahead, fulfill material needs dynamically and reduce unexpected service outages—especially after severe weather events.

These AI-powered innovations represent a major leap in how industrial manufacturers and utility providers can operate more efficiently and reliably. As the solutions expand across more sectors, they will empower businesses to make better decisions, improve customer service and build more resilient operations.

From Solopreneurs to Fortune 500

Since its U.S. launch in 2015, Amazon Business has enabled companies of all sizes with unmatched selection, deep discounts and business-focused features. Procurement and business-buying leaders use the platform’s key capabilities—curated site experience, Business Prime, business-only pricing and selection, multi-user accounts, approval workflows, purchasing-system integrations, payment solutions, tax exemptions and dedicated customer support. By working closely with customers to understand their buying challenges, Amazon Business continues to create technologies that help organizations define, meet and measure their purchasing budgets and goals.
