Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its long-standing 18-year partnership with ABB, a leading name in electrification and automation. The extended collaboration is set to modernize ABB’s global hosting operations, simplify its IT ecosystem, and strengthen its digital foundation to boost innovation and business resilience.
Under this multi-year agreement, TCS will implement ABB’s Future Hosting Model an advanced modular IT infrastructure designed to streamline systems. With TCS’ AI-driven Zero Ops framework, the model helps predict operations, speed up service restoration, and keep security running seamlessly. This newly expanded partnership builds on years of shared progress, supporting ABB’s broader Core Platform strategy focused on cloud adoption, modernization at scale, increased self-service, automation, agility, and resilient orchestration.
Alec Joannou, Group CIO, ABB, said, “Our extended partnership with TCS strengthens ABB’s ability to deliver value to customers. By modernising our hosting operations, we’re creating a foundation for agility, faster innovation, and improved reliability across the business.”
ABB intends to reinvent its hosting landscape by leveraging advanced technologies that drive optimization and innovation. Our vision is to help the business adapt and grow by making processes more flexible, improving quality, and keeping costs under control. Through TCS’ AI-powered approach, ABB aims to ensure stable global operations with minimal human intervention.
Anupam Singhal, President, Manufacturing, TCS, noted, “TCS has been a trusted partner in ABB’s transformation journey for over 18 years…Together, we embark on a transformative journey to build a platform-driven core that will unlock unprecedented levels of efficiency, autonomy, and innovation for ABB’s global business.”
By combining TCS’ deep industry expertise with ABB’s robust platforms, the collaboration will offer a future-ready and resilient IT foundation. TCS’ managed services platform will also bring flexibility to ABB’s architecture, supporting business transformations, including mergers, acquisitions, and carve-outs. By embracing a cloud-first approach and using data to guide decisions, TCS will help ABB lower its carbon footprint.
Over nearly two decades, TCS has supported ABB in ERP deployments, cloud transformation, and data center consolidation. The new initiative builds on that foundation to elevate ABB’s hosting landscape, opening doors for faster innovation and delivering enhanced business value in electrification and automation.
Peter Alkema, Global Head of IS Technology and Platforms, ABB, emphasized, “ABB is committed to building a modular, scalable hosting service that drives agility and innovation. With TCS as our strategic partner, the Future Hosting Model strengthens this commitment and ensures operational excellence.”
