NTT DATA, AWS Expand Strategic Collaboration on AI Cloud

NTT DATA, AWS Expand Strategic Collaboration on AI Cloud

NTT DATA has announced a multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Amazon Web Services to help enterprises modernize legacy systems, responsibly adopt agentic AI, and scale innovation across industries. The collaboration brings together NTT DATA’s strengths in cloud-native modernization, AI-driven transformation, and managed services with AWS’s global scale and rapid pace of innovation.

Through this partnership, enterprises will be able to modernize mission-critical workloads, establish secure cloud foundations, and drive measurable business outcomes, particularly in regulated and high-growth sectors. By combining generative and agentic AI with automation and data platforms on AWS, the collaboration is designed to move organizations beyond experimentation toward large-scale, production-ready transformation.

The agreement focuses on accelerating enterprise cloud adoption and innovation across several strategic areas. These include large-scale cloud migration and modernization using AI, the delivery of repeatable, industry-specific cloud solutions, and the development of AI-driven managed services that enhance client and customer experiences. A key component of the collaboration includes modernizing contact center environments using Amazon Connect, enabling organizations worldwide to adopt AI-powered customer experience solutions more quickly.

The partnership also addresses growing regulatory and data sovereignty requirements, particularly in Europe. As a launch partner for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, NTT DATA will deliver sovereign-by-design cloud solutions that help governments and enterprises meet strict data residency and operational autonomy requirements, while maintaining the security, performance, and availability associated with AWS services.

To support execution at scale, NTT DATA has established a dedicated AWS Business Group aligned with AWS sales and delivery teams. This group includes nearly 11,000 AWS-certified professionals, with plans to certify thousands more over the next three years. AWS will further support the collaboration through co-innovation programs, certifications, and client engagement initiatives aimed at accelerating enterprise adoption of AI-driven cloud solutions.

According to Abhijit Dubey, President and CEO of NTT DATA, cloud and AI are central to enterprise transformation. He noted that the collaboration with AWS is designed to help clients scale AI responsibly and securely, delivering industry-specific solutions that generate tangible business value worldwide.

AWS leadership emphasized that the collaboration will help enterprises modernize legacy workloads and unlock the full potential of cloud and AI. By combining industry-aligned architectures, AI-driven customer experiences, and sovereign cloud capabilities, the partnership aims to enable faster innovation while meeting evolving regulatory requirements.

The collaboration has already demonstrated impact through real-world deployments. Honda Trading Asia recently completed a successful migration to AWS with the support of NTT DATA, modernizing its systems and establishing a strong foundation for future AI innovation while staying within timeline and budget expectations.

Looking ahead, NTT DATA plans to develop dozens of new industry-specific, AI-driven cloud solutions on AWS through its Industry Cloud platform. These solutions will target sectors such as financial services, healthcare and life sciences, public sector, manufacturing, automotive, retail, and energy. Dedicated innovation environments on AWS will allow teams to design, test, and refine solutions before scaling them for enterprise use.

Supported by a full-stack portfolio spanning advisory, implementation, and managed services, the initiative also expands NTT DATA’s Smart AI Agent ecosystem. Together, NTT DATA and AWS aim to help enterprises adopt secure, responsible, and business-driven AI at scale, accelerating digital transformation across global industries.
