Foresight is redefining private market software by enabling users to interact with unified pre- and post-deal data using natural language. The company recently announced advanced AI features that allow customers to query data directly within the Foresight platform, as well as through popular AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Glean via its new model context protocol (MCP) server.
With these updates, private market dealmakers can prompt Foresight’s AI to generate lists of potential companies, while post-deal decision-makers can ask portfolio questions, model scenarios, and execute workflows in natural language on both desktop and mobile interfaces. This approach simplifies complex data access and enhances workflow efficiency across the $15 trillion private market.
“The $15 trillion private market has run on data silos and Excel, which has created unnecessary opacity. Foresight unlocks the data and analytics that fund managers and financial institutions need by using AI to unify the systems and sources of private market data and making it actionable through great user interfaces for sourcing, diligence, and portfolio management. With this product release we make that access simpler by letting our customers talk with their unified data in AI tools they already use every day,” said Jason Miller, Foresight founder and CEO.
The private market is undergoing a digital transformation, driven by the need to become data-centric. Banks are looking to leverage synergy between lending, wealth management, and M&A teams, making data unification critical. Venture capital, growth, and private equity firms, which have traditionally relied on reputational sourcing and manual Excel modeling, are now seeking technology solutions that allow them to scale efficiently without increasing headcount.
“Platforms like ChatGPT, Claude and Glean are expanding how users can interact with software. While traditional user interfaces shine with large amounts of data and complex analytics, every software product can benefit from the flexibility of conversational AI, and we’re thrilled to deliver this for our customers,” said Dan Spector, who joined Foresight earlier this year from Amazon’s artificial general intelligence (AGI) team.
Since its launch in Spring 2023, Foresight has quickly become a leading data and analytics platform in the private market, serving venture capital, growth, and private equity firms. Foresight Sourcing allows customers to build dynamic deal pipelines and access enriched company profiles that combine alternative research feeds with first-party data. Foresight Portfolio enables fund modeling, company scenario analysis, and enhanced LP and GP reporting through integrations with fund accounting, cap table, and KPI data.
Foresight’s mission is to unify the private market through accessible data, and this latest AI-driven enhancement accelerates that goal by letting customers ingest, access, and act on data seamlessly across familiar AI tools.
