FCMB Partners with Truecaller to Boost Digital Trust & Engagement

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has entered into a strategic alliance with Truecaller, the world’s leading verified communication platform, to strengthen digital trust and enhance customer engagement across Nigeria’s financial landscape.

The partnership comes at a time when online banking and digital transactions are growing at an unprecedented pace, but so too are incidents of fraud, impersonation, and phishing scams. With customer security taking center stage, FCMB has adopted Truecaller’s Customer Experience Solution and Branded Caller ID to ensure that every phone call originating from the bank can be instantly verified.

Through this integration, FCMB customers will now be able to see the bank’s official name, logo, and brand details displayed on their mobile screens whenever they receive a call. This transparent approach removes the uncertainty often associated with unsolicited calls and reassures customers that sensitive interactions—such as security alerts, account updates, or service inquiries—are genuinely from the bank.

The bank pointed out that this collaboration goes beyond convenience. It reflects a deliberate move to safeguard customers and reinforce digital confidence. Fraudsters frequently impersonate financial institutions to trick unsuspecting individuals, but by leveraging Truecaller’s verified identity solutions, FCMB is proactively closing this gap.

In addition to enhancing safety, the use of Truecaller’s Branded Caller ID allows FCMB to deliver a more seamless and engaging customer experience. By merging security with clarity, the bank aims to deepen trust, reduce fraud risks, and strengthen its relationship with customers at every touchpoint.

FCMB emphasized that this partnership is a key milestone in its digital transformation journey, where innovation, data security, and customer-centric solutions remain top priorities. By investing in advanced verification technologies, the bank reinforces its position as a transparent, trustworthy, and forward-looking financial institution that prioritizes the needs of its customers.

This collaboration is also a strong signal to the wider financial sector. As digital fraud tactics become more sophisticated, institutions must adapt by adopting technologies that provide both protection and reliability. FCMB’s integration with Truecaller is a clear example of how banks can leverage innovation to stay ahead of threats, foster stronger relationships, and build a secure ecosystem for the future of digital banking in Nigeria.

By prioritizing customer safety and adopting cutting-edge tools, FCMB is setting a new standard for secure communication in Nigeria’s financial industry.
