At MWC 2026, Amdocs announced a multi-year strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate AI-driven telecom modernization. Through this expanded alliance, both companies aim to transform how communications service providers (CSPs) modernize legacy systems, optimize network operations, and unlock new AI-powered revenue streams.
As telecom operators face mounting pressure to modernize infrastructure and reduce technical debt, Amdocs and AWS are stepping in with a unified AI and cloud strategy. Specifically, they are combining Amdocs’ newly launched aOS agentic operating system with AWS’s advanced AI and cloud technologies. This integration enables service providers to orchestrate scalable, multi-agent enterprise workflows while leveraging AI to streamline operations and enhance customer engagement.
Already, the partnership is delivering measurable results. A large-scale modernization program is currently underway at a leading North American tier-1 communications provider, demonstrating the real-world impact of the collaboration.
Key Areas of Collaboration
Agentic Services:
Amdocs is accelerating application modernization by integrating its migration and transformation-specialized agents with AWS generative AI services, including Amazon Transform and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. Together, they enable faster refactoring, mainframe modernization, and legacy-to-cloud migration. By leveraging Bedrock AgentCore’s identity, memory, and observability features, Amdocs can deploy scalable production-grade agents that reduce migration timelines from months to weeks.
Autonomous Networks:
By combining Amdocs’ telco-grade Network Digital Twin with AWS cloud and AI capabilities, the companies empower intelligent network operations. These AI agents detect anomalies, predict service impacts, conduct root-cause analysis, and simulate resolutions before implementation. Consequently, CSPs can reduce operational silos, cut costs, and move closer to fully autonomous networks with explainable AI decision-making.
AI Factory and Enterprise AI Monetization:
The collaboration also strengthens telcos’ AI monetization strategies. AWS AI Factories infrastructure integrates with Amdocs Cognitive Core and monetization platforms to help service providers offer GPU infrastructure and AI-as-a-service solutions. This joint approach enables telecom operators to scale AI services while aligning with enterprise data sovereignty requirements.
Agentic Contact Center and Customer Experience:
Through deeper integration between Amdocs’ Cognitive Core and Amazon Connect, companies can deploy intelligent AI agents that understand telecom-specific contexts. These agents automate issue resolution and deliver highly personalized customer support across care, commerce, and service journeys.
"Every enterprise is sitting on decades of technical debt that stands between them and an AI-ready future - and the cost of inaction has never been higher," said Fabio Cerone, managing director, EMEA Telco Business Unit at AWS. "By combining AWS's agentic AI services, built on nearly two decades of Amazon's own migration experience, with Amdocs' deep telecom expertise, we're giving operators a faster, lower-risk path to cloud transformation, unlocking new sources of innovation and value. What once demanded years of costly manual effort now takes weeks, fundamentally changing what's possible."
"We're delighted to expand our long-standing collaboration with AWS to bring transformative cloud, data, and AI solutions to leading communications service providers around the world, generating measurable business impact," said Anthony Goonetilleke, Group President of Technology and Head of Strategy at Amdocs. "As we expand our technology collaboration in this next phase, we are combining Amdocs' deep industry expertise and verticalization in Amdocs aOS with AWS's advanced AI and cloud capabilities to help our customers supercharge the achievement of key business outcomes."
Through this expanded partnership, Amdocs and AWS are clearly reshaping the future of AI-driven telecom transformation.
