TomTom has joined forces with SoundHound AI to unveil a next-generation, multi-agent AI-powered voice navigation experience that will debut at CES 2026. This strategic collaboration brings together TomTom’s AI Agent and Automotive Navigation Application with SoundHound’s industry-leading agentic voice AI platform, redefining how drivers interact with their vehicles.
At the core of this innovation is a natural, conversational voice interface designed to simplify even the most complex navigation tasks. Instead of navigating through screens and menus, drivers can now rely on voice-first interactions to discover places, locate EV charging stations near specific amenities, plan multi-stop routes, or ask detailed questions about their journey. As a result, drivers gain greater control while staying focused on the road.
Moreover, the solution leverages a powerful multi-agent architecture that allows navigation to seamlessly collaborate with other in-car systems, including music, HVAC controls, and calendar applications. This unified approach not only enhances usability but also significantly reduces visual distractions, creating a safer and more intuitive driving experience.
In addition, TomTom’s AI Agent introduces proactive route intelligence that continuously monitors traffic conditions and potential hazards. By evaluating real-time data, the system provides timely route adjustments along with clear explanations, enabling drivers to make informed decisions on the go. For electric vehicle drivers, the experience becomes even more personalized, as routing intelligently considers charging preferences, nearby amenities, time constraints, and overall efficiency.
From an automotive manufacturer’s perspective, the partnership delivers a major advantage. OEMs receive a pre-integrated solution that combines TomTom’s navigation expertise with SoundHound’s advanced agentic voice AI, dramatically reducing time-to-market. Furthermore, cloud-based updates remove the need for continuous custom use-case development, while still allowing manufacturers to maintain strong brand identity and modular control over their in-car experiences.
“At SoundHound, our goal is to make driving experiences more intuitive and truly voice-enabled,” said Matt Anderson, Senior Director, Automotive, SoundHound AI. “This collaboration allows us to pair our advanced conversational and agentic AI capabilities with TomTom’s navigation capabilities to deliver a smarter, more seamless experience for drivers, while giving OEMs greater brand control and a premium, differentiated solution.”
TomTom echoed this vision, highlighting the flexibility and innovation this partnership enables for automakers.
“Our collaboration with SoundHound AI marks a significant milestone in delivering an exceptional in-car experience,” said Manuela Locarno Ajayi, SVP for Product Engineering, TomTom. “By combining our advanced navigation technology with SoundHound’s agentic voice AI platform, we’re showing how the TomTom AI Agent can seamlessly coordinate with any voice assistant. This proves that automakers can achieve a cohesive, brand-owned solution without sacrificing flexibility or innovation.”
Attendees at CES 2026 can experience the solution live at TomTom’s booth in West Hall (W311–312), where intelligent navigation, EV routing, proactive hazard alerts, and lane-level guidance will be showcased—setting a new benchmark for in-vehicle voice technology.
