TCS Partners With Kalmar to Lead AI-Driven IT Transformation

Tata Consultancy Services has been selected as the strategic IT partner for Kalmar Oyj, marking a major step in Kalmar’s journey toward a more agile, AI-driven digital future.

Through this partnership, TCS will lead a full IT service transformation for Kalmar, helping the company simplify and modernize its global IT environment. The goal is straightforward: reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and create a digital foundation that can adapt as Kalmar grows.

TCS will consolidate Kalmar’s IT operations into a single, integrated delivery model covering application development and maintenance, end-user services, and infrastructure and hybrid cloud operations. By introducing an AI-powered operations framework and a unified command center, TCS aims to improve visibility, boost service reliability, and lower operational costs across Kalmar’s worldwide operations.

A key focus of the collaboration is Kalmar’s people. With more than 5,200 employees globally, Kalmar will use AI to improve the digital workplace and enable better collaboration between humans and machines making everyday work smoother, faster, and more intuitive.

“Our decision to partner with TCS is built on a strong history of collaboration,” said Tero Lehtonen, CIO of Kalmar. “We’re confident in TCS’s ability to build a modern, agile, and AI-first IT foundation that supports our long-term strategy.”

From TCS’s side, the focus is on resilience and continuous innovation. “This partnership reflects our ability to support complex global IT transformations,” said Subhadipta Samantray, Country Head, TCS Finland. “We look forward to helping Kalmar strengthen its operations and build digital capabilities for the future.”

Arun Pradeep Surendra Mohan, Business Head – Travel & Logistics, EMEA at TCS, added that the collaboration will help Kalmar simplify its IT landscape, improve operational resilience, and enhance employee experience—key ingredients for long-term competitiveness.

TCS has been operating in the Nordic region since 1991 and continues to support customers across Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. With strong local presence and global AI expertise, TCS is well positioned to support Kalmar as it builds a future-ready, adaptive enterprise.
