Pearson, Cognizant to Drive Learning & Workforce Skills

Pearson and Cognizant have entered into a global strategic partnership designed to accelerate early-career development, support mid-career transitions, and equip professionals with the skills needed to succeed in an AI-driven world.

Pearson’s Lost in Transition research shows that confusing and inefficient career paths are costing the U.S. economy about $1.1 trillion every year that's nearly 5% of the entire country’s GDP. At the same time, a joint study by Cognizant and Oxford Economics predicts that artificial intelligence could reshape up to 90% of current jobs, while potentially adding $1 trillion in annual growth to the U.S. economy by 2032.

As part of our ongoing partnership, Cognizant will work with Pearson to improve their platforms by adding smart AI technologies that can think and act more independently. The company will also implement cloud-native solutions built on microservices architecture through Cognizant Flowsource™, while deploying its Agent Foundry and Neuro® SAN solutions to enhance Pearson’s AI-powered business processes.

By merging Pearson’s global expertise in learning and assessment with Cognizant’s deep technology and consulting capabilities, the partnership aims to speed up the rollout of AI-driven learning, workforce skilling, and assessment programs. The companies will leverage technologies such as agentic AI, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and conversational AI to create next-generation learning solutions. These innovations will make education more interactive, accessible, and tailored to diverse learning styles, helping learners engage in seamless lifelong learning experiences.

The collaboration focuses on three strategic areas:

  • Early Careers: Pearson is teaming up with Cognizant to support their exciting programs like Synapse and the Immersive Learning Centre in Chennai. Together, they’ll help graduates, apprentices, and professionals build valuable skills in AI, cloud computing, and other digital technologies.

  • Redefining Learning: By bringing together Cognizant’s strengths in AI and automation with Pearson’s education platforms, the two companies aim to create exciting new products and speed up the delivery of existing services. Technologies like AR, VR, and conversational AI will be key to transforming how people learn and interact with content.

  •  Global Workforce Transformation: Cognizant will integrate Pearson’s solutions into client programs across various industries and regions worldwide.
