Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD), one of the UAE’s leading financial institutions, has officially opened its newly established Customer Contact Centre in Ras Al Khaimah. The launch event gathered several prominent leaders, including H.E. Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, Chairman of CBD, Dr. Bernd van Linder, CEO of CBD, members of the Board, and other distinguished guests, marking an important day for the bank’s customer service transformation journey.
The new Contact Centre stands out as it is entirely led and operated by Emirati professionals. This strategic move reflects CBD’s strong commitment to supporting the UAE government and the UAE Central Bank’s nationalisation initiatives, which focus on increasing the participation of Emirati talent across the financial sector. Additionally, it complements RAK Vision 2030, a long-term development plan aimed at strengthening economic diversification, improving the overall quality of life, and preparing the next generation of the national workforce.
Moreover, this inauguration represents a significant milestone within CBD’s broader service transformation strategy. By establishing a dedicated team trained to handle customer calls and engage with customers through the bank’s digital channels, CBD aims to deliver more personalised, efficient, and seamless customer experiences. The new facility further enhances the bank’s operational resilience and supports business continuity, ensuring that customers continue to benefit from smooth omni-channel service delivery across the UAE.
During the launch, H.E. Ahmed Abdulkarim Julfar, Chairman of CBD, emphasised the importance of this development, stating:
"For over five decades, CBD has proudly grown with the UAE and supported its people. The launch of our new Customer Contact Centre in Ras Al Khaimah is a milestone that combines two of our key commitments: delivering service excellence for our customers and creating opportunities for UAE Nationals."
The new Contact Centre will play a major role in creating employment opportunities for UAE Nationals. In its initial phase, it is set to open various roles across frontline, supervisory, and managerial levels—further reinforcing the bank’s dedication to empowering national talent.
Highlighting CBD’s long-term vision for talent development, Dr. Bernd van Linder, CEO at CBD, added:
"CBD's Contact Centre will offer clear career progression pathways and structured leadership development focused on management skills, strategic thinking and decision-making. In doing so, we aim to nurture future leaders and make a lasting contribution to the growth of the UAE banking sector."
Overall, the launch of this Contact Centre signals CBD’s proactive steps toward strengthening its service capabilities, supporting national workforce development, and reinforcing its presence in Ras Al Khaimah—all while upholding its long-standing commitment to excellence.
