Alight, Inc., a prominent provider of cloud-based human capital solutions and technology-enabled services, has announced the limited launch of a new generative AI solution designed to support smarter benefits enrollment and enhance how employees use their benefits. This advanced capability will be offered within the Alight Worklife® platform during the 2025 annual enrollment season.
This newly introduced solution expands on Alight’s previously integrated AI technologies. By leveraging user-specific data, the platform can deliver guided, personalized decision support throughout the benefits enrollment process. Employees receive tailored insights that help them select plans that best match their health, financial, and family needs reducing confusion and improving confidence in their final choices.
Lenny Fayard, Senior Vice President of Product Strategy and AI at Alight, emphasized the importance of simplification and personalization in the benefits experience:
“With Alight’s conversational AI solution, we are bringing a new level of simplicity, personalization and confidence to annual enrollment,” said Lenny Fayard, Senior Vice President of Product Strategy and AI at Alight. “By harnessing the power of AI, employees can more easily navigate their options and make more informed, confident decisions, while employers can have peace of mind helping their people choose the benefits that best meet their needs.”
One of the standout elements of this release is the generative AI-powered benefits assistant. Unlike traditional chatbots, it deeply analyzes employer plan details, policy content, and available programs to provide context-aware guidance. It recognizes the benefits an employee is eligible for and what they are currently viewing on their device. This enables fully interactive, conversational support that helps them complete enrollment tasks without friction. The result is a unified and streamlined experience that removes confusion and accelerates decision-making.
Employees can also seamlessly switch between devices. Whether they begin reviewing benefits on a desktop or mobile device, they can continue right where they left off ensuring full accessibility throughout the process.
Recent data from Alight reinforces the importance of this enhanced digital support. The company’s analysis from the 2024 enrollment season showed that nearly 96% of individuals enrolled online, while mobile app usage increased by 69% compared to 2023. This shift signals that workers expect a frictionless digital experience when evaluating their benefits options.
The new AI assistant is currently being piloted with selected clients as part of the 2025 enrollment season. A broader rollout is expected in 2026 once the solution completes its limited-release deployment phase.
Through this innovation, Alight aims to strengthen employee understanding, drive better benefit selection outcomes, and empower employers with technology that supports workforce well-being.
