Spirent Communications, now operating as part of Keysight Technologies, has unveiled Spirent Luma, a powerful agentic AI solution designed to accelerate network testing and assurance. With networks becoming increasingly complex, Spirent developed Luma using its decades of network testing expertise. As a result, this AI-driven solution enables organizations to analyze test results faster, troubleshoot issues more efficiently, and reduce reliance on highly specialized experts.
First, Spirent introduced Luma for its widely used core network testing platform, Landslide. By embedding Luma directly into Landslide, Spirent allows network teams to enhance productivity without changing their existing workflows. Unlike traditional AI tools that require separate interfaces or manual interpretation, Luma works seamlessly within the existing system. Therefore, teams can access insights directly inside secure lab environments where critical testing and validation take place.
Furthermore, Spirent designed Luma to simplify how engineers interpret complex testing data. Instead of manually analyzing raw logs, key performance indicators (KPIs), and packet captures, Luma automatically correlates the data and provides clear, actionable insights. Consequently, teams can identify root causes faster and resolve network issues with greater confidence. This capability becomes especially important as telecom providers transition toward advanced technologies such as 5G standalone networks, cloud-native infrastructure, and network slicing.
In addition, Luma leverages Spirent’s extensive knowledge of 3GPP standards and network compliance requirements. Because of this domain-specific training, the AI understands telecom testing environments more accurately than generic AI tools. Moreover, its conversational interface enables a wider range of team members to understand testing workflows, interpret specifications, and troubleshoot issues without needing deep technical expertise.
Another key advantage of Luma is its ability to integrate directly into secure testing environments. Since it operates within Landslide, organizations do not need to adopt external tools or disrupt existing processes. Instead, Luma enhances the current workflow by providing faster analysis, automated insights, and improved decision-making. As a result, teams can move from raw test data to meaningful conclusions much more quickly.
Importantly, the launch of Luma for Landslide marks the first step in Spirent’s broader strategy to integrate agentic AI across its entire testing and assurance portfolio. Soon, Spirent plans to extend Luma’s capabilities to its VisionWorks service assurance platform and Velocity test automation solutions. Through these integrations, Spirent aims to streamline testing operations, strengthen automation, and improve overall network performance analysis.
Anil Kollipara, Vice President of Product Management, Spirent, explained the growing need for intelligent automation in modern networks.
"As networks evolve toward 5G Standalone, slicing, and cloud-native architectures, lab and validation teams face cognitive overload driven by fragmented tooling and complex failure scenarios. Luma addresses this by automating the most time-consuming parts of test analysis, such as correlating KPIs, logs, and PCAPs, and guiding users toward a root cause within the tools they already trust for critical lab and validation environments."
Overall, Spirent Luma represents a major advancement in AI-driven network assurance. By embedding intelligence directly into testing platforms, Spirent empowers organizations to accelerate troubleshooting, improve efficiency, and confidently manage next-generation network infrastructure.
