Mavenir has announced a strategic collaboration with Red Hat to introduce advanced conversational AI and agentic AI service assurance solutions specifically designed for telecommunications providers. Through this partnership, both companies aim to help telecom operators strengthen network operations using secure, scalable, and high-performance AI technologies deployed directly on-premise. By combining their expertise, Mavenir and Red Hat are enabling service providers to adopt generative AI while maintaining full control over their data, infrastructure, and operational efficiency.
Importantly, the new AI-powered solutions will run on Red Hat OpenShift AI, which provides a reliable and secure platform for deploying AI workloads within telecom environments. Unlike cloud-hosted AI services, this on-premise approach ensures lower latency, improved data security, and enhanced performance. As a result, telecom providers can manage critical network functions in real time without relying on external infrastructure. This capability becomes especially valuable as telecom networks continue to grow in complexity and demand faster decision-making.
Furthermore, the collaboration focuses on helping service providers modernize their networks by integrating AI capabilities into existing infrastructure. By leveraging their current technology investments, telecom companies can adopt AI without rebuilding their systems from scratch. At the same time, they can benefit from improved automation, stronger network reliability, and cost-effective performance optimization.
Sachin Karkala, EVP & General Manager, IMS & RAN of Mavenir, stated: "In the race to monetize AI and evolve to autonomous networks, service providers need control of the user experience, cost and data privacy. Our collaboration with Red Hat enables us to develop on-premise AI solutions that do just that. Generative AI models can be fine-tuned using service provider data to build specialized, on-premise agents helping deliver optimal performance."
In addition, conversational AI is playing a critical role in transforming telecom services. Instead of simply transmitting communication data, AI-driven systems can now interpret intent, automate processes, and support intelligent network management. This shift enables telecom providers to improve operational efficiency and deliver enhanced customer experiences.
Agentic AI service assurance represents another key innovation introduced through this partnership. Unlike traditional monitoring tools that rely on static machine learning models, agentic AI systems actively analyze network conditions, create workflows, and make intelligent decisions across different network layers. These systems continuously learn from operational data, allowing them to identify and resolve potential issues before they affect customers. Consequently, telecom providers can maintain higher service reliability and reduce downtime.
To ensure readiness for large-scale deployment, Mavenir and Red Hat worked closely with Dell Technologies’ Open Telecom Ecosystem Lab. This collaboration helped optimize infrastructure performance, improve AI model efficiency, and ensure reliable operation across telecom networks. Additionally, Red Hat OpenShift AI enables telecom operators to manage GPU resources efficiently, strengthen security controls, and streamline AI lifecycle management.
Honoré LaBourdette, Vice President of the Global Telco Partner Ecosystem at Red Hat, commented: "For enterprise AI to move from proof-of-concept to production, it requires a validated foundation with mandatory components like guardrails, observability and a robust lifecycle. Red Hat OpenShift AI provides that necessary foundation. Together with Mavenir, we are demonstrating cost-effective GPU efficiency through tools like Kueue and Dynamic Accelerator Slicer (DAS) for multi-tenant resource sharing, which helps optimize utilization of high-dollar hardware investments. This, paired with low-latency model serving using vLLM, helps ensure that real-time applications like AI voice translation, achieve the deterministic performance the market demands, proving the tangible value of the on-premise model. This is our first announcement in a series of joint initiatives with Mavenir to leverage Red Hat AI technology."
Overall, this collaboration marks a significant step toward autonomous telecom networks powered by AI. By enabling secure, on-premise conversational and agentic AI solutions, Mavenir and Red Hat are helping telecom operators enhance performance, improve reliability, and prepare for the next phase of intelligent network transformation.
