Red Hat has strengthened its long-standing partnership with Bell Canada through a new multi-year agreement focused on accelerating network innovation. With this renewed collaboration, both companies aim to deliver world-class telecommunications infrastructure while advancing next-generation network capabilities across Canada.
Under the expanded agreement, Bell will further integrate Red Hat’s enterprise technologies, including Red Hat OpenShift Platform Plus, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. By combining these solutions, Bell plans to enhance operational agility, increase scalability, and maintain business predictability within its evolving telco cloud infrastructure.
As telecommunications providers face increasing pressure to modernize, Red Hat’s open hybrid cloud approach provides a unified foundation that spans IT systems, network functions, and media environments. Consequently, Bell can streamline its infrastructure while accelerating its leadership in 5G services. Moreover, this consistent and scalable cloud framework enables Bell to deliver high-performance connectivity and digital services at scale, meeting rising customer expectations.
Through this open hybrid cloud strategy, Red Hat empowers Bell to modernize virtualized workloads by migrating traditional systems to a dual-platform foundation built on Red Hat OpenStack Platform and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization. In addition, the collaboration supports digital sovereignty by allowing Bell to maintain control over data residency and infrastructure integrity across on-premises, public cloud, and edge deployments. At the same time, the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform enhances automation capabilities, enabling faster service rollouts and more efficient network operations.
This integrated approach ensures that Bell can adapt quickly to technological shifts while maintaining reliability and performance. As the telecom industry evolves into a highly competitive innovation race, infrastructure flexibility and automation have become critical drivers of success.
Gino Grano, global vice president, Americas Communication Service Provider Segment, Red Hat, stated:
“Telecommunications has evolved into a high-stakes technology race. For our customers, including Bell Canada, leveraging a unified hybrid cloud foundation enables faster and more efficient evolution of next generation 5G and network services. Red Hat continues to work with service providers all over the world, helping them turn technical agility into market leadership, deploying next-generation 5G and network services with speed and efficiency.”
Mark McDonald, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Bell, added:
“Extending our collaboration with Red Hat underscores the trust we place in their open hybrid cloud technologies to support the evolution of our networks, helping Bell deliver reliable, high-performance services and continue innovating for our customers.”
Overall, this extended partnership reinforces both companies’ commitment to open innovation, scalable cloud transformation, and accelerated 5G deployment across the telecommunications landscape.
