Ooredoo Group has announced a strategic collaboration with Aduna, the global Network API aggregator, aimed at making Ooredoo’s standardized telecom APIs accessible to enterprises across the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), and worldwide through a unified global platform.
This partnership allows banks, fintechs, e-commerce platforms, and digital service providers to seamlessly integrate Ooredoo’s suite of APIs—covering identity verification, SIM swap, KYC, payments, and communications. By doing so, businesses can now deliver secure, cross-border digital transactions without the hassle of complex integrations or maintaining multiple local agreements.
The alliance marks a significant step in Ooredoo’s strategic vision to unlock new value from the global API economy, a growing movement where telecom operators are opening their networks to fuel innovation, enhance interoperability, and create new revenue opportunities across various industries.
This initiative builds upon Ooredoo’s active participation in the GSMA’s CAMARA project, which sets international standards for open telecom APIs. By teaming up with Aduna, Ooredoo is now operationalizing these global standards and linking its API portfolio to Aduna’s global aggregation layer, making it easier for developers and enterprises to access telecom APIs securely and efficiently across borders and sectors.
The rollout of Ooredoo’s operating companies into the Aduna ecosystem will occur gradually through 2027, ensuring that global developers and organizations gain streamlined access to Ooredoo’s advanced digital capabilities via a single, scalable integration point.
Rene Werner, Group Chief Strategy Officer and Acting Group Chief Commercial Officer at Ooredoo, stated,
“With this collaboration, we are turning network intelligence into practical business value. Businesses can now plug Ooredoo APIs into their platforms and deliver safer, faster, and more innovative digital services to customers wherever they are. This partnership connects the dots between standardization and scale. From CAMARA to Aduna, we're building the full value chain for scalable, interoperable APIs that empower innovation.”
Anthony Bartolo, CEO of Aduna, added,
“Aduna was created to help telecom operators like Ooredoo turn standardization into monetization. By connecting Ooredoo's advanced API capabilities to a global distribution platform, we're enabling businesses everywhere to innovate faster, safer, and with greater scale. This partnership expands Aduna's footprint across the MENA region and underscores our shared commitment to driving the global Network API economy forward.”
This partnership is expected to accelerate API-driven innovation, enabling Ooredoo to play a central role in shaping the next wave of digital transformation and ecosystem collaboration across global markets.
