MariaDB Launches Cloud Platform to Accelerate Agentic AI

MariaDB plc has rolled out MariaDB Enterprise Platform 2026, introducing a unified database solution designed for the next wave of intelligent and agentic applications. This release brings together transactional, analytical, and AI (vector) workloads into a single, high-performance platform removing the need for complex data pipelines and separate databases.

With built-in RAG capabilities and intelligent AI agents, developers can now build applications that extract insights instantly and accelerate innovation. This upgrade positions MariaDB as a strategic database partner for enterprises aiming to leverage AI faster and gain a competitive edge.

According to Vikas Mathur, chief product officer at MariaDB plc, "The future of applications is agentic. AI agents need to probe, analyze and transact in real time and at enormous scale…" He emphasized that MariaDB Enterprise Platform 2026 eliminates traditional architectural challenges and enables real business outcomes through unified data access.

Making Agentic AI More Accessible

This year, MariaDB introduced native vector search to help AI systems interpret context more accurately. By keeping vector search embedded within the main database, organizations reduce latency, complexity, and unnecessary data transfers.

The latest release further enhances developer productivity with:

  • RAG-in-a-Box: A native solution that grounds LLMs using data stored directly in MariaDB without separate vector stores or retrieval pipelines.

  • Embedded AI Copilots: Ready-to-use intelligent agents available in MariaDB Cloud that assist with Text-to-SQL queries and automate DBA tasks.

  • MCP Servers Integration: Ensuring seamless communication and operations across enterprise databases, enabling AI agents to execute large-scale automation efficiently.

Serverless Power for AI Agility

MariaDB Cloud includes a serverless architecture that adapts to unpredictable AI workloads. Organizations only pay for what they use slashing operational costs while maintaining scalability as AI task volume fluctuates.

High-Speed Analytics with MariaDB Exa

MariaDB introduced MariaDB Exa for lightning-fast analytics, handling multi-terabyte data workloads at speeds far beyond traditional OLTP and leading analytic engines. This eliminates the need for separate analytics systems, delivering real-time insights directly on operational datasets.

Designed for Enterprise-Grade Performance & Security

MariaDB Enterprise Platform 2026 delivers major improvements that boost operational reliability:

  • 250% faster performance benchmarked against the earlier 10.6 version

  • New enterprise management tool for centralized, visual monitoring and database optimization

  • Upgraded security controls using an advanced database firewall to reduce risks and ensure data integrity

This comprehensive platform demonstrates MariaDB’s continuous commitment to helping organizations lead confidently in the AI era backed by future-ready technology and robust performance.
