Generative AI Gaming Startup Wolf Games Raises $9M Series A, Partners with NBCUniversal

Wolf Games, a generative entertainment company, has successfully raised $9 million in Series A funding, led by Main Street Advisors. The investment round also saw participation from industry leaders Maverick Carter and Tom Werner, acclaimed artist Rashid Johnson, and returning investors Dick Wolf, Jimmy Iovine, and Paul Wachter.

This funding milestone underscores a shared vision for the future of entertainment, where technology and storytelling converge to redefine player engagement. Alongside the funding news, Wolf Games announced a partnership with NBCUniversal to co-develop immersive games that expand globally beloved entertainment franchises using Wolf’s proprietary generative game engine.

Unlike traditional AI tools that focus on reshaping television or film production, Wolf Games’ platform acts as a creative collaborator, designed to support the narrative development process. It enhances story logic, character depth, and world-building, ensuring that every generated experience maintains authentic storytelling and emotional resonance. This unique approach to ethical generative AI focused on preserving the integrity of storytelling was a major factor behind the NBCUniversal collaboration. Through this partnership, fans will soon have the opportunity to interact within their favorite IP universes in entirely new and meaningful ways.

“Generative AI is unlocking a new frontier for entertainment,” said Elliot Wolf, Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of Wolf Games. “Wolf Games' platform is engineered to generate living, cinematic gaming universes that create new forms of daily play with world-class storytelling at their core. Our partnership with NBCUniversal unlocks the ability to expand beloved IP through this model, bringing fans new ways of connecting with the stories that they love.”

Lindsay Vogelman, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Partner Marketing at NBCUniversal, added, “We’re excited to partner with Wolf Games, an innovative company that is respectful of storytellers and has deep roots in the traditional creative and production process. Wolf Games is combining human creativity with cutting-edge AI technology to create unique gaming experiences, and we look forward to exploring how this technology can be used to build out experiences for fans of our beloved IP.”

Echoing this sentiment, Tom Werner, Chairman of Fenway Sports Group and Co-Founder of The Carsey-Werner Company, commented, “Wolf Games is reimagining what interactive entertainment can be – using the most cutting-edge creative tools in service of what matters most: great writing and storytelling. The company will help define the next generation of media by putting fans and communities at the center of the story. I am thrilled to support the Wolf Games team and for what’s ahead.”

Wolf Games’ first gaming universe, Public Eye, is set to enter beta later this year, with a full-scale launch following soon after. In this immersive title, players will step into the shoes of detectives navigating a world filled with crime, deception, and intrigue. Each decision players make will shape the evolving narrative, creating personalized storytelling experiences unlike any other.
